First and foremost, it is the present form of 123 agreement and Hyde Act which is against Indian interest. The other thing is that India developing Thorium based fuel instead of Uranium which makes US and other nuclear club vary. The reason is that India is abundant Thorium and very cheap compared to uranium. If India succeeds in this process, it will be great disadvantage among nuclear club. Apart from this, Indian scientific institutions like BARC made many such inventions in the field of medicine, industrial and civilian use of technology, R&D and facilities which US want great access. If India go forward with this deal, we are going to face severe attrition of scientific community and other nation easily lure them by promising great opportunity in their respective countries. What India achieved in the last 50 years, will loose within hours. One of the conditions is that BARC should close down Cirus reactor. The real motive of the US is to halt the progress of India making Thorium as a fuel in nuclear reactor. The time will tell how the scientific community in India going to react on this issue. If US administration give Re.1, then they will take back Rs.100/-. That is their foreign policy. What US administrators wonder is that after blocking and disrupting India’s development in the field of nuclear energy and bad experience of Tarapur, India could able to conduct nuclear test and made further progress in other areas which Americans and other nations makes uneasy for quite some time. This is not just a deal; it is clearly a strategic move of US to contain India in the long run. In this hide and seek game, whether India still push the deal against the interest and wishes of Indian people?

One way it is correct. But, where are we going to use nuclear warheads? against whom? US? China?Pakistan?....

They can also retaliate on us, within minutes.......er.......seconds? as sophisticated in future.

Is their any accountability in the nuclear spendings by India? Even Parliament is not to be answered for any query. PM alone knows the activities officialy.

So, ours is not a democratical way to deal with such things. In this context any foreign collaborations would worse the situation from bad.

Going with the Indo-US civilian nuclear deal is the need of the time from Indian point of view. There is nothing wrong in accepting the helping hands of the US administration to meet the increasing energy demands in India. Even the 'Missile man' Kalam has supported the deal so the government of India should go forward to make the deal operational.

If you wish that India manages to soar high as a global power in the coming decades, then you should desire that our officials sign the pact as quickly as possible. It is the politicians who are giving this entire matter a desired angle to get the power balance swinging in their favor. You can’t just become a super-power or an influential nation if your arsenal is loaded. Millions are still dying of hunger in this country and until those people are able to feed themselves thoroughly it would be a shame to assign that tag to our country. This self-centered democratic system has made us blind to think beyond the political goons own interests which they dub as development.
